Many years ago I was a two-time state champ wrestler and a two-time Junior Olympian wrestler. In addition, I coached battling for 14- years; in which two of those years I also coached the Junior Olympic battling team. During all those years as a professional athlete, and after that a coach, I learned how crucial it was to remain off of your back in the sport of fumbling. An even more essential lesson I learned was that if you did sadly discover yourself on your back, then it was even more important to get up off of your back.
Now, all these years later on as an adult I am surrounded by our youth as an inner city school instructor and daddy of five children. Through my past and present experiences, along with continuously observing our youth, I have actually learned this hard-fought and hard-earned lesson: Returning up off of your back is among the most essential things that we can do if we wish to make it through, and then ideally prosper in this lifetime. We can’t let life keep us down.
When we discover ourselves down and out, flat on our back, the most crucial thing we can do is to ignore all the doubters and naysayers. In addition, it is particularly crucial to overlook our own internal discussion of doubt. Simply dig deep and find the courage that you did not know you had. Get up off of your back right now. This is something that we should do. Later, after we have gotten up off of our backs, we can then rally and gradually chip away at the world’s lead on us. Do this, and continue to persevere through this fight and you too will eventually discover your arm raised in triumph.
Now teenagers, go discover, lead, and lay the way to a better world for everybody. Keep in mind that the secret to winning in life is to return up off of your back when you discover yourself down. And when again, thanks ahead of time for all that you do, and all that you will do …
